Springtime in Jackson Hole
If you think that there's nothing to do in Jackson Hole once the snow melts off, think again. During spring months, the town of Jackson becomes the setting for a variety of festivals and events that speak to the culture of the local area. Meanwhile, the surrounding valley and nearby National Parks remain host to a variety of activities unique to this time of year.
Plan a trip to Jackson and stay with us at Spring Creek Ranch. Our guests agree, Spring Creek is the perfect location to experience the magical time that is spring in Jackson Hole.
Spring is undoubtedly the best time of year to see local wildlife. Join us for a Dawn or Dusk Safari into the Jackson Hole wild that rivals a National Geographic special. Looking for a more extreme wildlife experience? Join one of our experienced naturalists on a Wolf & Bear Safari for two full days in pursuit of black bears, grizzly bears and gray wolves in Yellowstone National Park. Check out our Spring Wildlife Safaris for more information on these wildlife viewing opportunities.
April 22nd-26th is National Park Week, when National Parks across the country waive entrance fees. Marvel the jaw-dropping vistas of Grand Teton National Park or join Spring Creek Ranch on a Best of Yellowstone Tour and discover the dramatic geological features that influenced the decision to make Yellowstone the world's first national park.
ElkFest is a weekend of activities in mid-May organized around the world famous Jackson Hole Boy Scout Elk Antler Auction. Each spring, the impressive elk population, having taken up winter residence on Jackson Hole’s National Elk Refuge, shed their antler before migrating North for summer months. Local boy scouts collect and auction the antlers to bidders from around the world with proceeds going to the Refuge’s habitat enhancement projects. In addition to the auction, ElkFest also hosts the annual Chili cook-off as well as the Mountain Man Rendezvous.
Old West Days
As the "Last of the Old West", it would only make sense that Jackson Hole would be host to the 32nd Annual Old West Days Celebration in late May. Join the local community and visitors alike as we delight in theatrical entertainment, live music, arts and crafts, rodeo events and much more! In the spirit of these events, Spring Creek offers an Elkfest and Old West Days vacation special. This package includes a deluxe hotel room, breakfast and dinner daily at the Granary Restaurant and two tickets to the National Museum of Wildlife Art.
