Taste and Tour Jackson Hole’s Local Craft Beverages
Jackson Hole’s food scene is more than pork shanks and tagliatelle, it’s the local craft beverages that accompany them. Explore our community of entrepreneurship and experience award-winning microbreweries, wineries, taprooms and distilleries that have grown from our valley to yours. Whether you’re treating yourself after a long day on the slopes, escaping the rain, or celebrating with a gaggle of friends, taste and tour Jackson Hole’s popular alcohol producers.
Born in the back of a Thai Me Up, a Thai restaurant off the town square in Jackson known for playing Kung Fu movies and old school hip hop music, Melvin Brewery quickly became the cool kid on the block after winning Small Brewpub of the Year at the Great American Beer Fest in 2015. They soon opened a 30 barrel production facility in Alpine, WY (just 45 minutes away from Jackson) and then won Brewing Group of the Year at GABF in 2017.
Visit their Alpine Taproom Wednesday –
Sunday from 11am-11pm for a brewery tour, award-winning Melvin IPA and south of the border Hey Zeus burger.
Just a drive over Teton Pass is a newly established, yet quick to impress modern craft cider taproom in the heart of Teton Valley, Idaho. Hand-crafted using Rocky Mountain apples, Highpoint Cider was brought to life by two native Vermont brothers who spent a piece of their childhood on their grandfather’s apple orchard. Using apples straight from the Snake River Valley, try the Transplant, a traditional semi-dry modern New England style cider or the The Spur, a session cider infused with ginger.
Highpoint Taproom has a casual vibe with open seating, natural light and outdoor seating and offers a selection of local beers, as well as a curated wine list to complement their in-house cider. Take a tour or enjoy a cider while playing one of their many board games. Open Tuesday – Sunday until 9pm.
As one of the highest wineries in North America, the Jackson Hole Winery has perfected the art of making award-winning wine with 18% less oxygen and monopolizes upon the benefits of cooler temperatures. Using premium grapes harvested by winemakers in Sonoma County, California, the winery transports the grapes to Jackson Hole, where they are crushed, fermented, pressed and barrel-aged to procure approximately 4,000 cases of wine.
By appointment only, schedule the experience of elegant wine paired with extravagant views at the Jackson Hole Winery. Looking for a grander experience? Jackson Hole Winery also hosts private parties and events staged beside a pond with cascading views of the Teton range.
Fashioned by two friends who have a passion for creating the highest quality grain-to-glass craft spirits, Jackson Hole Stillworks is Jackson Hole’s only local craft distillery. Using entirely local ingredients farmed in Wyoming, each small batch is produced by hand at Jackson Hole Stillworks. Using this Grain-to-Glass approach, owner’s Chas and Travis have total control over every aspect of the distillation process, from souring regionally farmed grains to milling grain in-house, mashing and fermentation, distillation, aging and bottle. No stage of the process is farmed to an outside company and their passion for perfection is evident in every bottle.
Visit Jackson Hole Stillworks and experience their sustainable process (and delicious product) through a in-house tasting, tour, handcrafted cocktail or “sloshie” (a local favorite). Sign up for a tour through their website.
