The Beloved Fall Arts Festival is Coming

Hold onto your hats. Or should we say berets? One of Jackson Hole’s most eagerly anticipated celebrations is just around the corner. The Fall Arts Festival is gearing up, coming to…well, about every street corner and town park in the Tetons.

From the Western Design Conference Exhibit and Sale to the Palates and Palettes Gallery Walk to historic ranch tours and the sumptuous Taste of the Tetons, the whole of Jackson will focus on and celebrate all that is art—no matter the medium—from September 7th through September 18th.

The design conference is an elegant gathering of artists in fashion, jewelry, furniture and homewares at Snow King Center, September 8 – 11. Palates and Palettes is a wine-and-gallery tour through more than 30 of Jackson’s finest art dens, never missed by Jackson’s cognoscenti.

On September 11th valley chefs from restaurants near and far gather in Town Square to show off their culinary skills at Taste of the Tetons. It’s any foodie’s delight to swing from booth to booth in search of that “best ever” cuisine experience.

And be sure to mark your calendar for September 14th, when you can meet 2016’s festival artist of the year, Edward Aldrich at Mountain Trails Gallery. This Colorado artist is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design and was juried into the Society of Animal Artists in 1991 at the tender age of 26. He’s been painting portraits of animals ever since, and his paintings hang in galleries all around the West. His spectacular oil painting of a magnificent bison standing at the base of the Tetons’ Mt. Moran, “Greeting the Dawn,” will be available for purchase as a poster at the meet-and-greet.

The Wild 100 Artist Party is scheduled for September 15th at the National Museum of Wildlife Art. Here, you’ll be able to view and bid on inspiring works of art while mingling with the artists before the sale. And to keep up your strength, Spring Creek Ranch’s own Rising Sage Café, situated in the museum, will be providing hors d’oeuvres and drinks throughout the evening.

Closing out the 11-day extravaganza is the Jackson Hole Parade of Homes on the 17th and the Art Brunch Gallery Walk on the 18th.
