Summertime in the mountains isn’t just about steep hikes and spanning views. All that mountain snow has to (eventually) melt away in the summer, and here in Jackson, there are plenty of bucket-list water adventures to cool off with. Here are a few of our favorite water activities in the Jackson, Wyoming, area.

White Water Rafting Snake River Canyon

Every year, from early spring through summer, you can get your adrenaline fix by rafting the Class III rapids. Wind your way through Snake River Canyon and paddle your heart out as you rush through crashing rapids. Don’t have the gear or the know-how? No problem! We offer rafting trips for any ability.

Catch a Cutthroat Fly Fishing

These cool mountain streams and rivers make the perfect home for the famous Cutthroat Trout. Learn to fly fish for these beautiful creatures. Take a pro fishing guide and explore gentle pools and channels as you hone your angling skills. To top off the day, you’ll be surrounded by stunning views of the Teton Range. Our fishing trips are suitable for all ability levels, so don’t be shy, get your fly fishing game on!

SUP an Alpine Lake

SUPing or stand up paddle boarding is an excellent family-friendly activity suitable for almost anyone who likes to get out on the water. Rent a SUP in town and take to the water with this relaxing way to spend the day making a splash. We love to set out on String Lake, just below the Tetons, for killer views and a relaxing paddle. Bonus points if you pack a picnic lunch!

Relax in the Granite Hot Springs

At the end of Granite Creek Road in the Teton-Bridger National Forest there is a pool where you can soak and relax in a natural hot springs. The journey takes about an hour down bumpy dirt roads from Jackson. There are limited facilities at the pool including bathrooms, but be sure to bring your own snacks and water (and pack out your trash).

Cruise on a Scenic Float Trip

If crashing through rapids isn’t your thing, don’t worry, there are plenty of mellow sections of the Snake River to explore. Hop on a raft, kayak, or canoe and float your way down the Snake River. Take in jaw-dropping mountain views, hear the gurgle of the river, and relax as you slowly cruise down stream. This camera-friendly adventure even offers the chance to spot incredible wildlife such as elk, moose, bears, and plenty of birds. Our float trips are a part of our summer packages so come on down and explore the beauty of Jackson this summer.

Catch the Sunrise Over Jenny Lake

Jenny Lake, located inside Grand Teton National Park, is home to one of the most iconic views of the mighty Grand Teton. The best time to catch a glimpse is in the early hours of the morning. Watch in awe as the sun ignites the mighty Grand Teton. If you’re lucky, the lake mirrors a perfect reflection on windless mornings. After the sun is up, you can catch a shuttle from the Jenny Lake Visitor Center area across the lake for access to great hiking.

When it comes to summer fun, the beauty and adventure found in Jackson and the surrounding areas simply can’t be beat. So soak in summer and make some memories on the water near Jackson, Wyoming this year!
